Search engine optimization for Google (interesting, but little known fact is that the Danish term is søgemaskineoptimering Google) is a huge part of the fast growing internet world and if you are familiar with it you probably know that links from different websites have different value.
Getting a link from a very reluctant website is not always easy and sometime getting that “yes” seems almost impossible. The way to make people link to your should be organic and it should be natural. People should want to link to you because your website is indeed helpful and have something useful to offer. Keep on reading if you want to get familiar with some of the techniques you can use when communicating with other website owners in order to make them link back to you.
1. The Testimonial
The testimonials are very important because this is how other website owners know if your site is really a good one or not. The thing about testimonials, however, is that nowadays many of the testimonials are anonymous. Most of the people don’t trust anonymous testimonials and always wonder if you have written them yourself or had somebody else write them for you. If you can publish testimonials with the picture of the actual person, his/her name and title and what company they represent that would be great. That way the testimonials are real and people will doubt that less.
2. The Social Connection
The social connection is all about building a relationship with your target. You can use popular social networks like Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter to build a strong relationship with the target that you have in mind. Become a part of your target’s community, engage with them in a conversation or even retweet them. You can also comment on their blogs and engage different kinds of conversations. That will make them notice you and this will eventually help you get that link you want so much.
3. The Press
Using the press to impress. This is a really clever idea. For example, if you get interviewed for a blog or in a radio or anywhere it is a good idea to mention your target and even talk about their business a little bit. That will make a strong impression on them and will more than likely get you that link. There is a possibility that the target won’t link back to you after hearing or reading the interview but you can always contact them and remind them that you mentioned them in an interview somewhere. This is a selfless deed in their eyes and is one good technique to use especially if that link is very important for you.
Incorporate those 3 techniques in your strategy and you will have absolutely no problems getting some of the hardest links. If you have the right testimonials, build a solid social connection and show respect to the business of your target by talking about it in public, you will definitely achieve great results.
