5 Cool Tips to Help Google Penalize You

Most of Bloggers who are into SEO and blogging for a while know about Google penalty and Google slap. This usually happens in the form of decrease in page rank, removal of pages from Google search index, low Search engine ranking.

There are a few things which you should avoid to get Google penalty, but if you are determined to get Google penalty, here are few easy to get penalize point which you should do.

Buy Text Links:

You are building a blog about discount coupons and to get first page Google ranking, you started buying lots of links from High Page rank site and you might get on the first page of Google but Wait! what about those coupon sites, which exist for years and has been adding actual values to search engine? It might take couple of days but Google will detect that this link building is nothing more than  paid or promoted links and Boom! Next morning you are out of Google ranking and worst case scenario, your site is out of Google.

Auto Feed Blog:

Do you love the idea of making money in auto pilot? Create a blog which generate automatic content and you can put your adsense or any other ads and make huge money? Obviously this idea is not new and many people actually made money doing this, but now this is something which looks good when we talk about it, but in reality Google hate Automatic blogs like I and other serious bloggers do. It’s a known fact Google started de-indexing auto blogs and if you are one of those who planning to run a auto RSS blog better drop it and become a serious blogger. Meanwhile this is seriously easy way to get penalize.

Mutual Link Exchange:

“You scratch my back and I will scratch yours”. Seriously this sounds so cool but in SEO this is not as good as it sounds. Google hate link exchange and specially when it’s obvious. One common and working way to do is making a tripod. Assume 3 sites as A,B, C and link exchange should be like this: A–>B, B–>C, C–>A. Though make sure all three sites are relevant.

Keyword Stuffing:

Google hates keyword stuffing. If you write a post and stuff it with keywords like you writing a post about iPhone ringtones and you use this keyword twice in your post meta title, repeated insanely within your post and none the less, in meta keywords you are using it like: iPhone ringtones, iPhone ring-tone, Ringing tone iPhone and so on and on, you are doing nothing but inviting Google to penalize you.

Right way: Let your post be natural, use your strong keyword once in your post title, 2-3 times in post description, also use keyword variations and put your keywords in your meta keywords. Easy but this is more effective.

Made for Affiliate blog:

Most of people start blogging with the aim of making money online and seriously blogging is the easiest way to make money online but making all your post cluttered with affiliate link will make your blog a complete make money online monster. In Google guidelines it is clearly mentioned

“There is no problem in being an affiliate as long as you create some added value for your users and produce valuable content that gives a user a reason to visit your site. For example, you could create product reviews, ratings, and product comparisons.”

So if you are planning to build a make money affiliate site, make sure you add original content and not just doorway for search engines.

If you planning to work on building backlinks and your search engine ranking, pick any method from 101 ways to create quality backlinks.

Over to you

I would love to know your opinion here too. What could be other reasons that Google can penalize you?

I have a good laugh looking at the first recommendation and Google ad that shows up right after the blog post..
The first recommendation was that buying of text links will get you penalised by Google.. The Google ads that was showing right after the blog was ..

Probably we should pay $9.90 to buy 1,000 link for this site to validate if the 1st recommendation on buying of text links will indeed get it penalized by google…

I disagree about link exchanges. You only need to look at many of the blogs and websites within any given niche, and you’ll notice that many of them link back and forth to each other, whether those links were mutually agreed upon, or just happened work out that way. Google’s guidelines encourage website owners to link as long as they are editorial decisions.

Steve mutual link exchange in the same niche doesn’t harm for sure but excessive of it is bad.. More over I was referring to link exchange from unmatched niche ..Forget to add a note of it.. Though from my experience tripod structured link exchange is always better..!! Thanks for dropping by and for your comment!!

I have to disagree about link exchanges too. If a link exchange can benefit a visitor, then do it.

Those are mostly used by spammers, so they probably know already what are they doing and what the consequences are.

Ill have to disagree with Optimised Onion…. Link exchange, Ive already tried it. It didnt go well for me….

    Hi Billy,

Like with anything in life, there are different ways of doing link exchange. Some ways may work, some not. But to say that link exchange is wrong altogether is too harsh.
    Let’s create a scenario:
You sell beautiful blue ribbons, and someone down the street sells beautiful pink ribbons. You’ve come to a mutual agreement that you would not be selling pink ribbons to anyone coming into your shop, but would rather send anyone looking for one, down to the other shop; and the owner of the pink ribbon shop does the same for you. Both parties benefit, and people entering any one of the shops looking for a ribbon in any of those colours. This can be done with link exchange too. If it’s beneficial for two sites to exchange links, AND for people visiting the site, then I’d say go for it. Don’t let your own preconceptions of what Google may or may not do, keep you back from doing so.
One should always consider people first, then the bots.

Have a lovely week my friend!

Nothing can kill a company’s online presence faster than a Google Slap! Most of the time they don’t even know that they are doing something wrong. All it takes is an inexperienced person to be put in charge of a web sites online marketing, they read one blog and Boom, They think they know it all, Put everything they read from the blog into practice and 30 days later, “ err where’s the site gone?”

I think you are very right with these tips. This is especially for those who buy links,. This brings traffic but then the traffic is not targeted. Website owners should learn to try getting traffic which is targeted.
