5 Reasons To Get Yourself A YouTube Channel
YouTube is the worlds biggest Internet video platform and as such it’s rapidly growing every single day. Over 2 billion videos are being viewed and interacted with daily, by a mass worldwide audience. So, why don’t you have your own YouTube Channel?
Bloggers, business and brands are all using YouTube to their Internet marketing advantage and you should be making the most of YouTube’s Internet influence too. The following article outlines the top 5 reasons why you should be getting yourself a YouTube Channel.
1. YouTube Is Universally Popular
YouTube videos are being viewed worldwide and being shared across all social media platforms. Comscore reported that in the UK alone over 15 million people watch 200 million videos every day. When you consider that number, plus the rest of the entire world, your YouTube Channel has the potential to produce videos to become a part of that staggering viewership. Thing’s get even more powerful when you realise that video is actually the most engaging form of content on the entire Internet (iMedia Connection). Realistically, if you’re not setting up a YouTube Channel to make the most of video universal popularity, then you’re missing out on an exceptionally large, and impressively interactive universal audience.
2. It Can Improve Your Search Engine Rankings
Ever since the introduction of Google’s Universal Search in 2007, YouTube videos and Channels have had the power to infiltrate Google’s Page 1 search engine rankings. YouTube allows you to utilise both Channel fields and video description fields to fill titles, descriptions and tags with search friendly keywords and phrases relevant to your niche (and of course include your URL). By making use of these opportunities you can help to get your Channel and videos on to Page 1 of Google and higher up the YouTube search results too. The power of such a position will help to improve your website traffic, increase conversion rates, and generate a greater brand awareness amongst Internet users.
3. It Shows Thought Leadership
Embracing new technologies, medias and platforms shows clear thought leadership. Perhaps more than ever getting to grips with new developments early on is not only practically useful, but it presents an image that a user is on the pulse of industry news, and always the first to grab a hold of cutting edge information. YouTube is by no means a new concept, although it is an underused and constantly evolving platform. By using a YouTube Channel and embracing new ways of marketing and communicating on the web you can present yourself as a true thought leader in your niche.
4. It Is Completely Free
Does the universal popularity and SEO benefits YouTube Channels bring come at a price? Well you’ve got to buy a PC and get an Internet connection, but bar that, all such benefits are completely and utterly free. Whether you want to use YouTube’s tools, benefits and features for business or just for leisure it’s an extremely financially viable resource for any blogger, business or brand.
5. It Gives Your Video Viral Potential
Viral video only came about thanks to the introduction of Internet video. Viral YouTube users are optimising their Channels by interacting socially on both YouTube and social media platforms and sharing their content across the web to generate a fantastically huge viewership, and your Channel can do the same. By using a YouTube Channel your Internet video content has a great chance of having viral potential and sky-rocketing the global awareness your organisation.

Besides having the option to have a channel for Free, the main thing is if you constantly put up good quality video you will start to build your brand online, and an authority, and with these of course you will get more traffic to your site, to which you can promote your services and products.
It’s not that hard to make a video. Just download a free trial of camtasia studio to capture your PC screen activity – or order a webcam so that people can see you.
There are even free programs to create a video for YouTube. Just download them on the web and start recording.
Also, your website URL on the YouTube profile page is a dofollow one.
By placing really great comments on other YouTube video’s, you’re getting extra views, extra traffic and maybe some extra subscribers too!
The first 4 points are ok, but are you really serious about the potential for a video going viral? Yes the odds of viral success improve by having a video, in much the same way that your odds of wining a lottery improve slightly by buying a ticket. Very few videos ever go viral. If it happens it’s great and the potential for traffic is good but the majority of people viewing your video in this circumstance are not potential clients. And in the unlikely event they are, are you in a position to handle the business?
Have already attempted at it but did not get any benefits so far.
Great article and we totally agree. We’ve had great success with YouTube as a way to communicate benefits about our products as well as provide How-To instruction on using them.
You tube is one of the most viewed sites worldwide and you are right that if you are keen on marketing yourself then you should have a you tube channel. You tube uses mostly videos and this is a nice way to communicate to potential customers. Videos are a great marketing tool as in a video you can convince people by word of mouth.
Youtube has been invaluable to us as we try to grow our brand with a modest budget. It’s a lot easier to sell home gym equipment when you can show people how to use it!
Youtube has been invaluable to my online magic store, I sell a niche product, and compete with hundreds of other magic stores around the world. I have nearly 600 magic videos on my Youtube Channel. Each one linking to the appropriate websites product pages. I spend time building relationships through youtube to continue to nurture growth in my industry.
