To be honest, it’s also tiring for me to write about how content could take a website places. Many bloggers have already written about the topic and also defended how content boosted their websites to the top. I’ve read enough about the issue and I agree, for the most part. It’s true that content is king, because nobody’s foolish enough to put up a website with completely useless content. There is nothing wrong with believing that ‘Content is King’, for I myself believe it.
However, what is lacking in this principle is the real incorporation of SEO in the process. Before I write about this topic, I consulted a friend who said that this is only for beginners. I refused to believe him, because, as I’ve noticed, many veterans in the SEO business tend to forget the adage’s supporting fact. For the others who did not, though, consider this as a friendly reminder.
We tend to forget how promotion envelops the idea of SEO. Many of us are like newly-hired employees when starting an SEO project. We all start out with enthusiasm and excitement. We write great content and follow all the technicalities of SEO. However, we also tend to burn out during the process, because we exert all our efforts at the beginning. The result: solely relying and depending on our website’s great content.
Search engine optimization is the process of putting different website elements in the right alignment and order, to put a website or a business on top of a certain niche. SEO processes do not rely on content alone to make a website successful. There are lots of content-packed websites that can’t seem to make it to the top. Some of this content is well-written, so technical and avant-garde, as if written by a novelist, and still the website goes unnoticed.
While it is true that your website’s content can really help you get noticed, don’t think it’s enough. Promote your website while you do your regular SEO campaigns. Use social networking sites to your advantage, to let people know and hear about your blog. You know what I’m talking about. Do not be contented with what you have now. Move and get your site noticed!
