Don’t Ignore Directories
.
One of the main goals of SEO is to build traffic. Why are so many SEO professionals ignoring directories? Search engines have not abolished directories! Google has simply gotten stricter when it comes to acknowledging specific directories. Despite that, they are still beneficial for PR and traffic gain. There are many different types of directories that can be of great value to your website or blog. Check out the article at Search Engine Journal for a list of directory types and descriptions of each. You will also be able to find a list of recommended directories for submitting quality content. Avoid directories with lots of paid advertising or skammy content. Focus on descriptions and tags when completing submissions Detailed titles and relative tagging optimize brand awareness. For smart SEO, be selective of the directories you choose and create authority with solid link building.

Thank you for remember me how is important the directory submition in the search engine ranking work.First rule select the business directory related.
I agree with you, Loren, that no reputable source of backlinks should be ignored. However it’s a question of priorities. It’s still the case that the PageRank contribution that a backlink brings is related to the PageRank of the directory web page divided by the number of links out from that web page. This division means that the contribution is minimal. Your first priority should still be backlinks that give a greater PageRank contribution.
Thank for the advise. i recently started submitting in directories manually but in the end of teh I only submitted my website to around 200 directories only
is there any way I can submit in to more directories manually?

According to mine experience,If you look at the website addresses for all top sites on Google, Yahoo and MSN, they almost always have “keyword-rich domain names”.
the browser will load favicon.ico even if you didn’t use the tag in your pages. to stop it name it something else temporarily like hidefavicon.ico or something like that.

I’ve always been a fan of submitting to directories. Not the best links you can get, but certainly easy and they do make a difference.
I agree. In fact, directlries play an important role in…
a) diversifying one’s links
b) getting innitial link juice for sites that are difficult to promote (e.g.: very commercial)
c)bulking up the quantity, which is less important than quality, but still does count for something.
I m totaly agree with you. directory is very effective for search engine ranking.
I agree, surprisingly, directories that are relevant and high in quality can carry quite a bit of link value and some times traffic.
