Easy and Quick Ideas For Link Bait
When thinking about creating link bait, lots of people get caught up in ideas of writing a piece of content that’s going to attract thousands and thousands of links. The danger is that this is very difficult to do and can be quite an expensive process with no guarantees of how successful it’s going to be. This led me to thinking about ways in which you could create content that appeals to your users, increases repeat visits and still creates an opportunity to attract new links.
In this post I’m going to discuss a few content ideas designed around attracting links from specific targets. Link bait doesn’t have to attract thousands of links to be successful; you could be creating content to attract a handful of great links from specific websites. If you have a blog in place this could be the ideal way to grow your link profile at a nice natural rate, without having to spend a fortune.
Find An Opportunity
Part of your work as you promote your website should include monitoring other websites in your niche. If you do this regularly enough you should start to spot opportunities for content that other websites simply aren’t taking advantage of. If you find a topic that hasn’t been fully explored, it could be worth your while writing something to fill the gap and approaching other websites to see if they’d be interested in referencing your content.
Add to Someone Else’s Argument
Perhaps you’ve read a great blog post or article, but feel that you could add another angle to the story. If that’s the case try getting in touch with the creator of the content in question and let them know that you are planning on writing a response and would they be willing to reference it in their blog post. This will only work if you have a genuine point to make. Another great way to attract traffic to your response is to leave a genuine comment with your points and linking to your full response within the comment. If the original blog post is popular enough this should earn you traffic; plus a few links!
Promote Other Businesses
It’s highly likely that whatever business you run, there are other related services and business that your customers/readers could benefit from knowing about. A great way to earn links is to write a blog post promoting other websites and letting the other webmasters in question know that they have made it onto your list. Obviously, you will want to choose companies that have a website and the ability to link back to you (pure coincidence obviously!).
Ask For Someone’s Opinion
Asking for other people’s opinions is a great way to write a balanced blog post. Not only is this great for your readers, it’s also a great way to earn some links and social mentions. Try asking a panel of experts about their opinions on a particular subject. If the interviewees in question are active on Twitter then you’ll at the very least gain some all important tweets.
These are just a few ideas about how you could start to gain some links to your website via easy to create link bait. If you do this well enough it’s perfectly achievable to acquire a handful of decent links and social mentions from each blog post. Feel free to leave some more ideas and tips in the comments section!

Good points. I thought your comments about adding to someone’s argument were really useful. I will give it a go.
Great tips. Anyway, the best LinkBait tactic is creating quality content, that will be linked. I do test this method right now and i can tell you that work’s great!
Anyway, to create great content, take’s time, a lot of time, but, in SEO, all take’s time.
