Facebook Marketing Tactics and Tips
Facebook marketing is increasingly getting into blogs and websites. Social media channels such as YouTube and Slideshare also have features which allow you to share content with your Facebook friends.
The following Facebook marketing techniques will help you promote your Facebook page by engaging your audience, acquiring more likes and provide tips for retaining your audience.
Use custom tabs
You could create a landing page which offers a free gift for signing up. You can also change the offer by carrying out split testing (trying different landing pages).
Use a reveal page to get more ‘likes’
A reveal page offers exclusive access to content such as an online tutorial, an exclusive video or a song. Such an offer is an incentive to encourage visitors to ‘like’ your Facebook page.
Run surveys
B2C brands can use Facebook to test if a product is viable by running surveys, asking people if they like a product or not. The real time open forum offers the opportunity to carry out free market research. This is a strategy that I have used frequently to test my ediet coupons and weight watchers discounts.
Post trivia questions
These might not be directly linked to your service or product, but should be relevant to your target market.
Link to Twitter
Allow visitors to your Facebook page to view your tweets without having to leave Facebook.
Respond to comments
Responding to comments not only enhances your Facebook edge ranking, but also wins the loyalty of fans as you interact with them personally.
Place a ‘like’ plug-in in your blog or site
This will enable people to ‘like’ your Facebook page immediately after reading a post in your site or blog.
Advertise on Facebook
This is a relatively inexpensive and easy way of advertising. The cost can be capped daily (e.g. $15 a day) and low budget advertising done for testing.
Run a competition
Many people love a challenge. Facebook has several applications which will enable you to run a competition.
Link to Facebook in Your Email Newsletters
Integrated marketing will make your brand more visible and make it easy for individuals to ‘like’ your page.
Update your page with recent blog posts
This will enable visitors to your Facebook page to read your posts without having to go to your site or blog.
Embed Your Online Store
While you engage with your customer, remember that your ultimate goal is to get them to buy your service or product. It is therefore advisable to have your online store on Facebook.

I have not tried Facebook advertising & Running a competition on my business page. I have tried other things & noticed a little success. Hopefully these two activities add a little more percentage to my activities.
I have tried Facebook Ads and I have to admit that results for my niche were much better than Adwords. With Facebook ads you can target people more easy and this rocks!

It looks so simple. but too difficult when implementation starts. One more tips…If you own a blog, you can add Social RSS apps to your facebook apps for automatically sharing your blog post.

Facebook is the largest social media website and advertising using Facebook means that you get a large number of potential customers who may turn out to be your customers for a long time. This however needs quite some work and dedication because social media marketing is not very easy but when it picks up then you will be happy with the results.
