Get More Exposure by Being Re-Tweeted by RT Bots
There’s one tiny but cool Twitter hack I had some success with, so decided to share: give your Tweets more exposure with auto-retweet Twitter bots.
How do auto-RT bots work?
These are scripts that publish things a Twitter users tweet about to their own profile, thus collecting information on a specific topic.
Why can getting retweeted by such a bot be a good idea?
Many of those bots have a lot of followers and are also tracked by mass media. I for one got a really good link due to one of such retweets, hence my sharing this tip. (Please note, I don’t suggest going after some spammy bots, the bots listed here are all quite powerful, fun and useful).
How can I get retweeted by one of those bots?

Here are a few really good examples (Notice the “Key terms” column to get an idea how to get retweeted by each one):
| RT bot | Key terms | Followers |
| FacebookGeek | “Facebook” | > 13K |
| Twitt3rGeek | “Twitter” | ~ 2K |
| HowToTweets | “How to” | ~ 7K |
| Drunk_Bot | “Drunk” | > 1K |
| ShutUpMeg | “Shut up” | ~ 1K |
| UbuntuTweets | “Ubuntu” | ~ 600 |
| FireFoxSux | “Firefox” and “sucks” | ~ 100 |
Any more powerful Twitter bots to be aware of?

Hi,
thank you for your very interesting tips
But i was not retweeted, i’ve tried with FacebookGeek. What was my mistake?
Do you have to follow the bot and then be followed by the Bot to get RT’d?
Great advice, Twitter re-tweets are extremely valuable.
Great tips and I will have to try this on my blog posts when I come to publish and tweet them. Would be good for me to get more exposure for them so more people can read them. Thanks for this information.
Tip shared on my blog! In portuguese! Great tip!
Hehe, great tip! Let’s see if we can get this to work
Watch me tweet tweeps!!!
BTW: @icantinternet if you want to follow me
Too bad, but apparently the “How To” Twitterbot is down since august…
Some of these are quite funny. i.e. Shut up meg bot. Looks like the drunk bot has been suspended. Must have been too much drunk tweeting. lol
Does anybody know of a longer list to find those bots?

i’ve tried with FacebookGeek.thanks for sharing!!!!
That’s a great tip. Does anyone have a longer list of these bots?
Hello,
Somebody pointed me to this article. I’m the owner of many Geek accounts on Twitter. You can view my complete list of popular “geek” accounts here : http://twitter.com/FrederiekPascal/mygeekaccounts
But I have to disappoint you, my “geek” accounts are NO auto-retweet bots. Retweetbots are imo spam bots and don’t receive much quality followers.
My geek accounts are a combination of Yahoo Pipes (+100 feeds for the popular geek accounts like http://twitter.com/TechnologyGeek), Twitterfeed, Socialtoo, Google Reader & Hootsuite.
Some of them have many followers because I turned down the frequency of the auto posts with Twitterfeed. Less is more imo.
It was an experiment of me to get to know the Twitter platform better. I never could imagine the current success of those accounts. Imo one of the successes is that the content is of high quality and there is no spam from my accounts.
Cheers

Thanks for sharing these. I tried a few of the keywords, but no luck for me ={
