Get Traffic with Facebook “Notes”
John Haydon had an awesome post on his blog sharing how to leverage Facebook “Notes” to get traffic to your blog. To drive traffic to your blog you need to add its RSS to “Notes” application and ask your best Facebook friends to do the same!
Here’s why it’s powerful:
If you have 30 fans who each have 100 friends, your blog post will be seen by as many as 3,000 people. These blog posts appear both on profile walls and on the Home Page news feed.
The steps are as follows:
- Add “Notes” application to your Facebook account;
- Import your blog RSS there;
- Configure how you’d like the feed to appear on your wall.

I’ve heard about doing this before from other SEO pros. It’s on my to-do list – hearing you post about it is a good nudge to get me to actually move on it.
That was a cool one. I have heard about the Notes application but never imagined that it could do a promote our blogs.
It’s a pity that a lot of websites depend on the facebook and google,but the same time this websites help them. Because it could be a big problem if they would change something. I think there are a big monopoly, The worst thing is most benefits are them.
Awesome Ann. I’ve been using notes for promoting blog post. but i dont aware about these feature..
Awesome idea! Very creative and I never thought about this. I don’t do a large amount of social media marketing, however I love your tips and ideas to help myself and my clients benefit from additional traffic sources.
I have been copying my blogposts to my FaceBook Notes for a while now, and I get more comments to my Notes than to my blog. It also gives people reasons to check out my website. I also post it on my www.pnn.com newsletter. Another thing I do is look for other blogs on the same topics and use excerpts from my blog as comments (with links) on those sites. Good trick of get traffic with facebook note application. I will try this trick. Thanks.
I thing it is the great way to get traffic on your site dramatically. But it will beneficial only when you have a great community online. it is the essential requirement for this.
It’s good but i think now fan pages can help you to drive traffic because you can suggest the page to your friends and you can also ask your friend to share this page with their friends. One more thing what ever you update on a fan page it will goes to every fan in form of updates in inbox.

^ This is simply NOT TRUE. Facebook does not function like this.
Yes, Facebook Notes can be a great way to drive traffic, but your Note Feeds will not make it onto all of your Fan’s Friend’s Feeds, not on their profiles or their News Feed.
Users must be a Fan of your Page, or a Friend of the account the Note is posted on to receive the Feed.

aNN, you have shared some great tips to bring traffic to a website. Infact users must be of my page then only the traffic can come. This point has been raised by someone else in the comments above.
Nice sharing Ann, much better if we use plugins for this … like socialite, it makes dofollow link on FB wallpost… dont know actually, is it back link or not
I am beginner in Facebook, I’ll increase friends and use this trick for traffic. Thanks for information.
I don’t have a fan page also, but i believe this is really going to help me out,i will create a fan page and then notes , thanks alot for sharing it.
WOW! This is a very interesting article! It’s amazing to me all the little things that you can do to drive traffic to your site. I just wonder how much of these little tacits does the search marketing expert use for their clients??
This is really an important post, especially regarding the new Google Caffeine which adds more weight to social relations and links from social websites, not to mention the major traffic generated, that is one of the several parameters used by Google to its algorithm.
Super site thaks lots of info. I will keep on coming here to see what’s new.
