Guest Blogging – Much More Than Just Link Building?
If you are into link building or online reputation management, you must have heard of the term Guest Blogging. Let’s talk straight: people get into this very quickly and participate actively because it’s the great way to build quality links for your website and if you have a great style of writing that forces readers to follow and look up to you.
But is this all? Well, most of the people may say yes! But I think guest blogging is a lot more than just link building.
Self Grooming:
Guest blogging is the great way to test your skills as a writer. While guest posting you meet numerous new readers, you expose your work to ne audiences and get new feedback – if you are smart enough, you’ll listen to this varied feedback and improve your writing and style. You’ll learn to adapt to new atmosphere while keeping your unique style.
Expanded Research:
If you are a good guest blogger, you’ll treat each new opportunity with care: you’ll research each new blog to better adapt your writing to the new community. You’ll try to realize what is well received by the readers and why. This all will serve as a background to your overall knowledge and outlook. You’ll come across various tactics and learn to be a better blogger and a more experienced marketer.
Socializing:
Guest Blogging allows you to become more social. You interact with other bloggers in order to exchange ideas and guest blogging opportunities. You meet more people within your industry and beyond and strengthen these new relationships through Twitter, Facebook and other social media networks. This interaction means more opportunities and stronger contacts. If you just follow someone on Twitter, you are just a random stranger. If you guest blog and get followers through the guest post, people have something to remember you by and associate your account with.
More Feedback:
Blogging is a two-way interaction where you get a quick response from the people reading you may. The feedback may be both positive and negative – which allows you to analyze yourself as an expert. If you are mistaken (and who isn’t?!), you have more chances to timely find out about that if you get more feedback.
Personal Reputation:
Guest posting positions you as an expert. If your writing start popping up consistently on good and powerful blogs, people will start citing your work, you will get the power.
Obviously we cannot eliminate the factors like link building but that’s definitely not all.
I might be missing few more factors and advantages of guest blogging; if you think there is any more benefits I am missing, I would love to hear from you.

I think you’re dead on with this…guest blogging is about so much more than just getting links. It’s a good link building strategy at worst, but at best, it’s potentially the key to your next big thing.

Phew guest blogging no doubt its a huge topic one of the point which i would to add is, guest blogging isn’t just about marketing into your own niche because some times when you are not getting the results you want from being into your niche only it gives you rooms to play around into other niches which relates to yours in any case. That can get you some quality leads/sales. In fact its a better way to test you overall on page strategy and keyword selection without messing up your site structure.
Glad to see your article, very good, very grateful.
It’s also about teaching. I guest blog a lot to reach a different audience and give up knowledge to that set of minds. Who know what one tiny thought of mine might spur the next great idea? And that is really the reward for me.

Your first point – Self Grooming is by far the most important. Too many people think that just because they can publish online easily they are a writer. Building writing skills comes from feedback and guest posting is a great way to get others to take a good look at your work.

Thanks for posting this. Well, guest blogging is building reputation online. I guess this is applicable to those who want earn credibility and it also one way to showcase what you’ve got. There’s no wrong in this and if you are up to the challenge then this one is best for you. Surely, you’ll never regret doing this as this one is yeah much more than just link building because you are attracting tons of readers to your place.
Great tips thanks! Instead of blog spamming use Multi links submitting tools it take 5 sec, such as Voteroll.com and antya.com/pulse.php You will get free links and traffic to your site. Yes Blogging is a great way to learn new things however it is a two way process whereby you are teaching and learning from others comments… Link building in this fashion is unethical and produces poor approval results !! hence a waste of time?

Guest Blogging is a great way to provide readers with fresh content and a different insight to topics.
If you’re interested in building links, consider writing an arsenal of content you’re willing to give away for free (give three quarters of the article away and demand the publisher posts a link to the rest of the article, which you host on your blog, in exchange for the free content).
This gets your content out there and helps build a lot of links.
Guest posting is different.
It’s not about the links – it’s about the readership. Tapping into an established readership provides the opportunity to attract readers to your blog. Furthermore, it acts like a drop in a pool of water – the readership will share your content with their following, thereby increasing the chance of even more readers.
It has little to do with SEO.

Well I’ll partially gonna agree with you as I don’t think guest blogging has nothing to do with link building, well in my opinion guest blogging has a lot to do with SEO and link building but yes my point was the same guest blogging is not only just link building its about readership and even more.
I think that many people think of guest blogging just as a way of getting back links and nothing more. It is nice for people and bloggers especially to be reminded that there is so much more to guest blogging.
