Look What People Ask in Your Niche
Today I decided to share with you (or remind to those who might have forget about it) a great tool that shows which questions a searcher tends to ask when using the specified phrase.
This tool is ideal for a few essential tasks you probably tackle daily or weekly:
- Get new post ideas (Sometimes you are just stuck, so use it for inspiration);
- Content optimization (especially for titles: a title that asks a question will not only generate you more search referrals but also encourage more clicks-through and comments);
- Semantic search optimization: give people what they want – give them the answer to their questions.
Wordtracker’s “Keyword Questions” tool is a great free utility to start with!
People often type questions into search engines. Now you can find these questions, answer them and get some great search traffic. You’ll be targeting long tail keywords and providing content that readers want to read and link to. Enter a single or a short keyword to find the questions people are asking in your market

This is a technique I’ve just come across – an ideal way of getting pages to rank for the various questions related to your niche is to create an FAQ section with answers to those questions.

Great tool. Thank you for this. I have been using keywords that I knew were of interest by looking at my blog stats. This opens up a whole new arena.
One thing I do to create more traffic and a higher Google rank is to write a series of articles on the same topic using introduction and summation ‘pillar’ articles with explanatory articles in between. Each of those articles titles, tags, and categories are SEO’d with the keywords, and of course the body of the articles have the appropriate phrase(s).
What really helped is that I started writing on areas of business that very few others were talking about. Often they weren’t talking about them for fear that the answer might scare people off. But, if people are looking for answers, give them to them.
Another good tool for finding questions is digging into yahoo answers or any other ‘how to’ site

Yeah great point Dave. Looking at your log files and site search is another good way to get an idea of what people are searching for/which questions they’re asking.

In fact, any keyword suggestion tool can do most of this. Lop off the general searches like “books” or “head hunters” and see what is in the long tail. Those are questions, even if they are noit worded as such.
Soooo…can we expect “What is SEO?” and “How do I become a certified SEO?” to be your next blog posts?

Great tool, thanks for sharing. I am optimizing my search engine optimization campaign for my two blog sites and its really important for me to track the keywords.
This one little tool pretty much started my current blog! It’s a great way to get content ideas and will give you the inspiration to go out and research your niche. If you do it right some of the phrases and questions can bring in some steady traffic and hopefully the search referred traffic will stick around and read your more tailored content…

Thanks for sharing this tool. What a good way to find workshop/writing topics. I also like the idea of creating an FAQ section to address on some of these questions, if they relate to your site/service.

This not only good to find out what people ask in your niche, but also what people ask about your company, that you can use it to post a article, for example, in your company blog/site trying to answer their questions!
