Make Your Posts Social-Bookmarking Friendly

The following tip was provided by John Gunnar.

A lot a bookmaking services use a bookmarklet to easier save pages, and this is what you need to know:

1) Description:

A bookmarklet reads the source code on your web page in order to add information about a web site.

Therefore you need to add meta description: <meta name=”description” content=”"/>

The text you add, is the same type of text that appears as a description for the bookmarks on browsers and on bookmarks on social bookmarking sites.

2) Thumbnail

Several social bookmarking sites like twine.com, faves.com and secondbrain.com – allow a bookmark to be followed with a thumbnail. Therefore it is essential to have a logo or a small image on every page.
