I like this trick and use it each time in my keyword research. I came up with it after discovering the great AutoPagerize user script for Greasemonkey. It stimulates a lot of ideas quickly. In keyword research, where creativity is still a key ingredient, this trick not only makes for a great “jump in” point but also provides a bunch of terms that have a higher probability for success.
Take one keyword or keyword phrase and enter it into Google like this: allintitle: ~coffee products where coffee products would be the term you’re looking to expand upon. By using the tilde (~), you’re ...
My favorite Google advanced search option is its date range allowing to sort search results by most recent ones. So this time I am sharing my really quick (and useful) tip on how to make the most of it:
1. Keep it always on your Google (home) page: "Keep Your Google Search Dates" - Greasemonkey script - it keeps the advanced date search drop down always on Google home page and search results page...
There are many possible cases when you would like to compare the link power of two or more pages or sites:
You may want to compare two or more of your competitors to identify the strongest / weakest one;
You may want to compare the site link power and its rankings (remember, the quantity of links is not all: site age, link quality and other factors come into play);

Google delivers the best search results based on content relevancy and information freshness. Spiders are very busy as they regularly crawl our sites looking for information keep Google's database full of fresh information.

Use SEOquake FireFox plugin to integrate a wealth old important data right within the SERPs;
Sort results based on any (!) of the chosen criteria.
Per my experience, RELATED: is one of those Google advanced operators that are understood by only few people and thus are rarely used. However it is very useful and I for one use it no less than a couple of times a week.
Therefore I decided to share how to use this Google search operator:
Red Flag
Use it to find (bad) link neighbors: RELATED: operator shows any page co-citation: i.e. what other resources are linked to from...
When a normal person visits a web page, all he sees is content: text, rich media and links. When a marketer visits a web page, his first thought is how many people this page attracts and his second thought is why (that's when content evaluation comes into play).
This week I've compared three multi-feature SEO toolbars that may partially answer the first question: how well a page might perform in search engines.
But unfortunately, those...
Social media sites for the most part offer all of their users a profile name and profile page. Take Twitter for example, on Twitter my profile name is @lorenbaker, and my Twitter profile ranks fairly well in Google for my name; Loren Baker.
I have a fairly unique name, and there are not very many Loren Baker's out there, so I usually don't have a difficult time securing my profile name across social media...
With the ever growing popularity of blogs and social voting / bookmarking sites, you may wonder if good old 'web 1.0' forums are still worth the effort. My immediate definite answer is "Yes" and here are my points:
Forums are still a good source of niche news and useful tips: look at WebmasterWorld forums - its Google section is my daily inspiration.
Many forums still "follow" the links - and even if they don't, a...

404 Errors are probably one of the most commonly found error pages in any website and the typical reaction is that your visitors would bounce off the page as soon as they see the 404 error message. Now why do we let them go and give them alternative options ?
A custom 404 page can be extremely useful and at times even lower the user's...
