- Discover the networks of inter-linked sites;

Yep, some of the other search engines have some really useful operators (Yahoo! has loads).
Another favourite of mine is Live’s ip: search.

These tips are really great Ann. I’ve been enjoying them.
I understand the “how to do” behind this latest tip, but I’m not clear on how to use it.
From what I understand, it tells me that Amazon is linking to the kennelclub.org. But I am unable to find where on Amazon so where is the benefit of using the tip?

The trick is not to find out where exactly the link is located but to know who the site links back. Fir example, you want to approach a webmaster to ask him for a link back but you are not sure if your link is going to be in a good / relevant neighborhood, so run linkfromdomain: search and you will see who else the site link back. See the idea?

OK. I totally “get it” now. Thanks for the explanation Ann!
B.
Ann, how about a tool that lets you see links out from an individual page or folder?

Not sure about the folder (?) but for that page use SEOQuake FireFox extension. Its toolbar shows all external links and when clicked will display which ones are ‘nofollowed’.
