As internet usage continues to rapidly expand across the globe, it is important to keep up-to-date with the latest technological advancements in order to continue to drive traffic to your site. One of the most current effective ways to gain links to your site, and subsequently increase your Google Page Rank, is by using social media marketing and engaging content.
Internet users are constantly being targeted with online adverts to the extent that the message behind the advertisement is often going unnoticed as people instantly click off. Particularly with the onsite of social media networks such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter, a growing number of people are logging onto the internet purely to interact with others, rather than engage with information that is freely available to them.
To overcome the problem of your marketed content failing to produce adequate results, you need to engage with your targeted audience on more of a ‘personal’ level. By this, I am referring to building internet relationships with your users rather than pitching your company, product or service directly to them. Social media users relish the opportunity to interact with others, especially if they are seen to be of a benefit to them and their lifestyle. This provides you with a ready market of people who are open to fresh content if it concerns them and is presented well.
Twitter is a quick and easy way to reach out to millions of people with one simple ‘tweet.’ You can use Twitter, along with other social media sites, to your advantage by hooking on to the end of discussions that relates to the content you are marketing. Again, this should not be in the form of sales jargon that causes people to feel instantly alienated, but rather seen as something which people need to follow-up.
One way that you can ensure that your content is engaging enough that people will want to visit your site and find out more, is through video and maps. Videos and maps are also much more highly regarded by Google and rank on the first page of Google more readily than websites. This means that by using a video as part of your marketing campaign, you could potentially achieve the top spots of Google within a few weeks rather than years.
Registering with Google Local to get yourself literally on their map is also an easy, free way to get yourself a premium listing that appears above the organic results on Google is more than likely to get you a good source of traffic.
